About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and community-focused Seafront Inspector to help maintain and protect some of North Norfolk's most popular coastal locations.

Based in Cromer, you will be the Council's representative across our resort areas, helping to ensure our beaches, promenades and seafront facilities remain safe, welcoming and well-maintained for residents and visitors alike.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines inspection, public engagement, enforcement, maintenance and operational support.

  As Seafront Inspector, you will:
  • Monitor Council-owned seafront property, reporting defects and carrying out minor or emergency repairs where appropriate
  • Act as a visible Council representative, providing information and guidance to residents, visitors and local businesses.
  • Undertake formal inspections of Council land and property and maintain accurate records.
  • Carry out patrols relating to Public Space Protection Orders, engaging with the public and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate.
  • Check safety equipment along the coastline and report any defects
  • Provide support for events, activities and projects delivered by the wider Leisure service
This is a part time role, with variable hours each month depending on seasonal demands. The total amount of hours worked per year is approximately 900.  Of that total, approximately 750 hours are worked between April and September, as Spring and Summer are the busiest times.

About You

  • Enjoys working with people and can communicate confidently with members of the public, businesses and partner organisations
