About The Role

This role offers a broad scope of work, the opportunity to build networks with senior contacts and help to shape the future of finance at North Norfolk.
 
The successful applicant will handle a wide variety of tasks, e.g. finding efficiencies and cost savings, being the Finance Business Partner for Service Managers delivering the Capital Programme, being the in-house expert for accounting for the Collection Fund, treasury management and contributing to complete service redesigns.
 
The post holder will work closely with Members and senior officers, and thus gain invaluable experience for the future. The post holder will provide technical expertise to ensure sound financial management to comply with legislative and accounting codes of practice and with our own governance arrangements. In addition, the post holder will help to produce the medium-term financial strategy.
 
Previous experience of procurement processes and legislation would be an advantage as the role includes management of the procurement team, but this experience is not essential. The variety of experience and knowledge to be gained in this role makes this an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to further their career, or for someone with this experience already to come and join us as a valuable member of the team.

About You

As a qualified CCAB accountant, you'll advise on a wide range of financial related issues, which will call on your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be able to plan, monitor and prioritise workloads, and be able to deliver your work within strict deadlines.
 
Strong all-round technical accounting skills and year-end reporting experience will be key. You will also be happy to be part of a small, experienced team.
