About The Role

North Norfolk District Council is proactive, forward-thinking and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents, businesses and visitors. Nestled between the stunning North Sea coastline and picturesque rural landscapes, we pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and delivering high-quality services.

Our Council is passionate about making a positive impact in the community, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where everybody can thrive. At North Norfolk District Council, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives that shape the future of the district.

We are excited to be recruiting an Assistant Director for Corporate Services and Transformation to join us at a critical time in the future of local government services in Norfolk. In this newly created and pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing essential services, including HR, Communications and PR, and Customer Services, as well as lead our Project Delivery and Corporate PA teams, as we seek to represent the interests of our residents through Local Government Reorganisation and Public Service Reform.

You’ll be at the heart of driving positive change across the Council and contributing to new service delivery models, proposed through Local Government Reorganisation, ensuring that the Councils objectives and values are met in the short and longer terms.

Working alongside the Chief Executive, Senior Members and Assistant Director peers, you will have the opportunity to shape future public service delivery in Norfolk. Your motivational leadership will support our teams during this period of anticipated change to achieve their best, fostering collaborative relationships which support the innovative public service delivery of the future.

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a background in managing diverse teams. You should have extensive managment experience and a proven track record of delivering objectives, ideally within a local government setting. Your excellent interpersonal skills will help you build positive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and the community we serve.

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. As a passionate public servant, you should be someone who can think strategically and work collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes efficiently, always offering value for money.

In return you will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your role. You’ll work in a friendly, supportive and professional environment that allows you to enjoy a healthy work-life balance. If you can demonstrate the requirements of the Job Description and would like the chance to be part of a team dedicated to making North Norfolk a better place to live, work, and visit, then we would like to hear from you.
